I don't know where I got the idea that the LED's were not variable with the standard rheostat, but they are to some degree. At least if anyone else tries it and runs into the same problem, they will know where to look. It should have been a simple matter of popping one out and popping one back in. It was a bit frustrating at first, but once I pulled the fuse, everything came back to life without having to do anything more.
#LED DASHLIGHTS TRIAL#
Getting the LED's to all light at the same time was a trial and error process one would work, then another, then one would go out then the other. If this symptom is correct, with all of the panel lights being out, then the proper solution was what was in the thread. I assumed it was the BCM sensing a 'short' since that is what was suggested in one of the threads.

The fitment did not have the same 'feel' of the standard lights and having to tweak them a little probably had something to do with it. Okay, I am down off my soap box now.enjoy the pic.not very good I am afraid, but it does give an idea. The whole idea of a forum is to avoid just that. I have been on quite a few forums in my time, for the cars I have owned and not once did anyone ever suggest that they take the car to the dealer unless no stone had been left unturned. My source of aggravation came from those members whose solution was to 'take it to the dealer' without offering much more that gobbledegoop. Once the new lights were in and functioning, I put everything back together.like a whole 5 minutes! Put the fuse back in and all is well. Of course no one mentioned which one and I figured I had a 50-50 chance of getting it right. So I jumped on the forum here and after a serious bout with aggravation, I was able to glean the removing the BCM fuse resolve the problem.
#LED DASHLIGHTS MANUAL#
As I said, I ended up with no lights at all and could find nothing in the owners manual or fuse panels to indicate anything to do with dash lights. They are also polarity sensitive, if the don't work one way, turn them 180 and install. They don't have the 'feel' the standard bulbs have so you could end up with a short as I did. First off they needed to have the contacts adjusted a little bit to make contact. Well, I received my LED's for the dash today from Super Bright LEDs.
